Such a gorgeous family, I had the pleasure to photograph recently. Michelle and Terry had just welcomed baby Harrison into their family and he was fitting in very nicely. I have to say though, new big sister Phillipa stole the show 🙂

If you’d like your own newborn photos the best time to book is whilst your still pregnant and in your baby’s first 2 weeks is the best time to capture these precious moments.

Meet the newest member to the Kavanagh family | Brisbane Family Photography

Well Spring is here and it has certainly become a newborn season for Honey Bee Photography, with 5 newborn sessions recently. I ‘d like to share the first of those with you today.

About 3 weeks ago I had the pleasure to photograph the newest edition to the Kavanagh family.

Little Ebony, just 15 days old, was just beautiful and with her new Big sister Elisha, was a delight to photograph as was the whole family. As expected it can be a little messy when photographing naked newborns and when taking the photo with Daddy showing his new Ebony tattoo, she didn’t disappoint 🙂 You we’re very brave Aaron and took it all in your stride!

I’ve booked my Photo Shoot. Now what do I wear? |Brisbane Family Photography

Well one of the most asked questions when booking your photo session is “What should we wear?”

Firstly your need to feel comfortable in what you’re wearing because otherwise it will show through in your photos if you’re not. Smiles are much better than grimaces! Secondly you don’t all have to wear the same colour but what does look great is if you all compliment each other.

 

Layering what you wear looks great in photos and can provide different looks as an item is added or removed. Don’t be afraid to accessorize as this can add colour & texture too. It is, however best to avoid big patterns and bold writing on t-shirts as well character clothes for your children. This can date the look of your photos very quickly.

When you book your photo session with me my welcome pack includes a guide to help you choose outfits to make your photos great. Work with what you have in your wardrobe, you don’t have to run out and buy all new clothes!

Fun Family Picnic |Brisbane Family Photography

What a wonderful afternoon was spent with the Jones’. You know your going to have a great time when the family arrive and your greeted with warm, squeezy hugs 🙂

Mandii and I have become good friends in the last couple of months and Mandii was the artist of our recent gorgeous family photos. So you can imagine I was a little nervous to have the responsibility of photographing her family.

I had a little picnic scenario set up for them hidden away in a little clearing near the bridge. We must have looked a little suspicious as the local police  thought they had better come and check out what was happening in the bushes.  I’m pleased to say they were happy to see our picnic and nothing untoward!

Oliver’s cake Smash Session | Brisbane Queensland | Children & Family Photography

Well what a gorgeous little man I had in the studio today 🙂 Oliver recently turned ONE and we marked the occasion but having a cake smash session.

This is a great to celebrate a FIRST birthday and if your organized you can  do it a couple of weeks just before your little ones birthday and use the images for Birthday Invitations 🙂   What a great idea!!
